The Bible is the living word of God and is an effective tool to learn about all aspects of life from. Friends and Friendship advice is no different. The Bible has many great scriptures and verses that dealing with friendships. These tips are helpful in how to choose friends and how to treat your friends.



Friendship Bible Tip #1: Be Kind and Forgiving To Your Friends



Ephesians 4:29-32 Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice. Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.



Friends are to be treated as described in this Ephesians Bible verses. Make sure to treat them in a way that is good for building them up and not with bitterness. Sometimes friendships hit road bumps and make sure not to slander or gossip about your friend to others. Also be forgiving and kind just as you were forgiven from Christ for your sins.



Friendship Bible Tip #2- Make Friends With Those Wise

Proverbs 14:6-7 A scoffer seeks wisdom in vain, but knowledge is easy for a man of understanding. Leave the presence of a fool, for there you do not meet words of knowledge.



The Bible is clear in that it talks about us seeking wise counsel with many decisions in life. I encourage you to develop and make friends with those that you consider to be wise in the Bible and thus capable of giving wise counsel. Is there an area you are struggling with today? Seek the friendship of wise people by asking them for assistance in this struggle.



Friendship Bible Tip #3- Stay Good Friends With God



James 4:8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.



God wants you to draw close to him because he wants a relationship with your. Are you able to lay it on the line and surrender to God. By surrendering to God we give up our selfish ambitions and give into His will. This is the type of friendship God wants. A friendship where you rely on Him and trust in Him completely for every area of your life.
